Onyay Pheori

Onyay Pheori's unique sound was birthed at some of the most powerful sites around the world. An experienced recording and performance artist, Onyay began a 7 Year Quest called 33 Muses in 2005 where she traveled to ancient sacred sites opening up to the mysteries and frequencies beyond this world. At each site crowds gathered transfixed by her sound and Onyay began understanding how to share these experiences, through music and multi-media performance, with the world. A key element to this new sound can only be described as an angelic or galactic language, indecipherable by the mind but irresistible to the soul.



Since 33 Muses' inception, she has journeyed deep into the Amazonian Rainforests and ascended high into the Andes of Peru and Ecuador, explored the Mayan Ruins of Mexico, the Temples and Pyramids of Egypt, the Caves and Ruins of Crete and Greece, the castles and mountains of Southern France as well as sacred and natural places in over 19 countries including Chile, Ireland, Indonesia and South Africa. Her process involves a receptivity and communication with the sounds and memories held in these places, translating them through her voice and violin as a sonic shapeshifter, becoming more human and more than human simultaneously.
In 2008 Onyay joined forces with Grammy winning producer and musician Jeff Bova. Though most known for his collaborations in pop music, he has transported listeners into a peaceful world of mystique and mysticism with his ambient group Cypher 7. Through his subsequent work he explored the inner dimensions of self and alternate realities finding new ways to allow the listener to experience themselves through music. With Jeff and Onyay a dynamic collaboration was born. Onyay Pheori and Jeff Bova's most recent creation "Visitation" is a haunting tale of a songbird who has gone silent and it's communication, through Onyay, about humanity and the planet.
Onyay's experimental lyrics and hypnotic melodies explore the extreme light and dark of the human experience as well as the mystical realms beyond this 3D reality. Onyay and Jeff's ambient grooves and sumptuous rhythms elevate the spirit… A listening and visual experience that leaves the audience with the feeling that there is a deeper part of themselves they have just met and a door has forever opened to places they have longed to remember.

Vanishing was composed and recorded with Jeff Bova for a short film, A Love Song from a Vanishing Honeybee. Awake and Dreaming and Come Closer were recorded with DJ Story in Northern California. Yes You Can HOPE was recorded with Jeff Bova, Bob Rice and Ellen Lazares to Get Out the Vote in a Music Video for Obama. Love Again was improvised with Ananada in San Francisco. He also recorded and played guitar on Your Kisses.
