It began in 2003 when a few adolescent high-schoolers were destined to play music out of their love and passion for their favorite bands. Jamming covers was not enough for the boys of Shot of Clarity, so in January of 2005 Josh, Adam Clost, Adam Ryan, Matt and Bryan set off to Mississauga ON to record 3 songs and 2 performances. Unfortunately by late April things began to fall apart with Adam Ryan. A dispute arose between both Clost and Ryan, and Adam Ryan left the band. Luke Fraser temporarily took over the position by June and stayed with the band for the rest of the summer. Shot of Clarity would head to the studio again in July of 2005, recording a 5 song EP co-produced by Alex Mycan. Alex educated the band on some key musical methods that would ultimately influence the band to greater talent and knowledge. Playing shows throughout the summer the band quickly realized their time may have been running out, as Clost was inevitably forced to partake in post-secondary education the following term. There was a long pause in the band, a moment to reflect on what had so quickly turned into something special. Determined to keep writing, the rest of the band decided it was necessary to add Luke Ryan to the band as Luke Fraser would reside. Working very hard to write some new material, the quartet were able to develop their previous genre into something more powerful and creative. By early December, word was out that Adam would no longer be continuing his studies in Ottawa, and would return to the band. Only Weakness was the name of the band, who were reborn and back in the saddle once again. By June of 2006, the band poured their hearts out and finished writing five solid songs, heading over to Mastermind Studios in Hamilton ON to professionally record their album. This was a huge step for the band who were able to break their boundaries and create something they could be proud of. By the end of summer 2006, the members of Only Weakness were forcefully placed in their respective post-secondary schools. However this did not prove to be means to an end whatsoever. The 5 boys from Orangeville continue to write more and more music, while sequentially adding new dimensions to their sound, and pushing their limits.

Sharing the stage with bands like Belvedere (Calgary AB) and Sydney (Mississauga ON), Only Weakness administer a considerable amount of skill into perfecting their live performance. The band strives to create rich harmonious vocals and melodic instrumental hooks that will blow your mind again and again. With the addition of irregular time signatures and a catchy new Psychedelic dimension to their music, the band hopes to further develop their style and make it something of their own. In a town where hardcore music prominently stands out, you can expect to see something different from Only Weakness. Somewhat unappreciated in their hometown, they have received a more than warm response in cities such as Guelph and Toronto ON. Come check them out and you will undoubtedly go home feeling satisfied. With live performances ranging from Punk and Alternative, to a heavy Psychedelic/Experimental domain, these five young lads from Orangeville will never stop writing, and will not disappoint you.
