Becoming a success in the music industry takes a lot more than talent. Few artists realize the costs and determination required to succeed like producer, engineer, musician, song writter Jason “J-Intell” Intille. J-Intell has overcome unfortunate circumstances, regrettable decisions, and bad breaks to become one of the more promising artists to develop out of the talent rich Northern California area. His future, bright as it is, is as much a reflection of his past as it is a mirror of his heart and love for music.
Raised in the roughest gang and drug infested neighborhoods in Sacramento, J-Intell's early years were marked by physical and emotional abuse, parental abandonment and drug use. It was during his early teen years that his aunt gained custody over Jason and things began to turn around. She worked diligently to show him the benefits of education and hard work. By the time Jason was in high school he was working 2 jobs, had bought his own car and had moved into his own apartment while still in high school.
In his 20's these lessons would pay off again when Jason and his good friend started a band, OMINA (from the phrase “I am going to [make this happen]”) This new path required Jason to return to school to learn recording engineering. J-Intell had been playing bass as a hobby since age 15, and along with his friend & drummer Ga bi Farr, OMINA consisted of promising artists such as DJ Epik (Mos Def, Keak da sneak) Tone Malone (Sacramentos American idol winner) and Goldfingaz.
Once the door to education swung open, J-Intell would not be satisfied until he was certified in audio engineering, audio production and post production. He followed by attending Digidesign tech college for Pro Tools. At first he worked primarily with small local acts, but from these humble beginnings, J- Intell has created a career that boasts credits from Fox's “So you think you can dance?”, MTV's “P Diddy's making of the band, and motion pictures such as “The brave one”, just to name a few. His song “So Sac wit it” is a regular staple at Sacramento Kings Games, and his sound as a producer is highly sought after by industry artists. J-Intell writes, produces, engineers, raps, sings and plays instruments in a virtuoso package destined for stardom. The past beneath him is a solid foundation forged from desperate days, J-Intell now stands poised to take his future to the very limits of his talent, ambition, and imagination.
