Omerta first began life as a group of metal kids wanting to play some Metallica at Hautlieu's 2004 Xmas show. It went well so the guys decided to carry on the band outside of school. After various line up changes they finally settled as a four piece and decided to take on the island's music scene. They played their first gig on 1st May 2005 and made a good impression at the Qbar (now The Live Lounge). They proceded to churn up the islands typically punky music scene and helped revive the dying Jersey metal scene. During the autumn of 2005 Omerta wrote and recorded their debut EP "Forget Everything You Know" and had a well turned out launch night. The EP, even with its shoddy production was well recieved and showed much promise for the band. Omerta started recording their full length debut album in autumn of 2006 and after months of trying to squeeze in sessions the album has finally been completed. The album features 11 tracks of our (current) best songs consisting of styles reminiscent of all our influences but packaged in our own individual way. We think it kicks ass and hopefully you will agree. It is now available at Omerta gigs and Island Music.
