From “God Sent” in hawaiian to “boy” in nigerian, the term Oke has different meanings across the planet. So Oke's debut album “Retrodisea” is introduced as a cultural mixture of several genres with a common factor: soul music.
On “Retrodisea” you'll find an atypical songs collection with eleven tracks halfway through
genres such as r&b, funk, jazz and smart pop suitable not only for mainstream listeners but for demanding tastes. The Breakthrough artist began his career 4 years ago with the band “360 grados” which was choosen by Clipper's Publishing Director Joe Perez and producer Carlos Jean between more than 500 spanish bands to sign a record deal with Warner Music.
Free from boundaries, the artist decides to get into the crooner's style and starts singing at a Casino making jazzz, bossa and funk covers. In 2007 and under Erik Nilsson's guidance (Beatriz Luengo, Tony Santos,Estrella,Ketama) released the single “Cuentos de Finales Tristes/Baby Watcha Gonna Do Now”, a brilliant introduction song with the purest Motown essence wich topped at #1 on “M80 Supersonido” a prestigious black music radio show managed by Mario P�rez. The single had an amazing reception in Chile.and Mexico as well. More than twelve months of efforts give their fruits on “Retrodisea”.
