I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6!

Sophie is currently taking some time out to have a baby. She will be recommencing project work in September.

She is a DJ/producer, working under her "Dirty Havana" name. For the last three years, she has worked hard touring internationally as a DJ, including holding a residency with Hed Kandi in Greece, being a tour DJ with the IT Girls, and playing guest slots with Serious/Dusted, and Pukka Up.

The first remix under her production name "Dirty Havana" is the Dub mix of "It’s Tonight", the very first track signed on the OhMy! Label she runs with Elliott J Brown. The remix has been getting some very positive responses from the press, here’s what Blues & Soul Mag (issue 991) says.

On top of that, see what she has to say about it all in Rewind Magazine, as she indulges with a little chat with Anna B Click here to read article

She also remixed "Reach High" for Knights of the Round Tables, available on Room Control records at www.traxsource.com. With a killer dirty bassline, a chunky groove and percussion from the legendary Manos (Beats De Vyne), Reach High keeps to that classic funky house style that will continue to live on regardless.

On remix duty is the Legendary DJ Romain (Brooklyn, NYC), with a classic US Tribal Remix.

Also with remixes from Deep Velvet, Daddy Funk 45, Dirty Havana (Sophie DJ) & Ben Dela Pena, This is a track which will appeal to the whole spectrum of funky house love

Her love for dance music began back in the late 80’s. Inspired by Kiss 100FM and its DJs back in its days as a pirate station, and frustrated by cutting up tapes with a scalpel and putting them back together to create seamless mixes (sometimes successfully, sometimes less so), she took to the turntables. And so began and addiction to mixing vinyl, and mixing, and vinyl.

Sophie has DJ’d professionally for 5 years. In 2002 she came fourth in the Miami WMC Spin-off as the only female DJ in the comp, and on her return won a much coveted residency at Pacha London.

In 2004, she joined the team in Blackmarket Records, (and would later move on to be a part of Uptown Records), and undertook a music production course to give her the necessary engineering skills to lay down her own tracks. Following this path gave her valuable insight to the workings of the recording industry in London, and helped in paving the way to her forthcoming production career.

From 2003-2006, she was a popular presenter on London Underground radio station, UnknownFM, before putting her radio career on hold to launch OhMy! and tour.

Her DJ career to date has taken from the best clubs in London Town - Pacha London, The Cross, The Egg, 333, to tours in India, club residencies in Dubai, guest slots at Space Ibiza, festivals in Sicily, and clubs, beach parties and bars in Poland, Portugal, Spain, and across to Hed Kandi in Greece, and back again to her hometown at the Guilfest Festival. She played with the IT Girls at Sam Branson’s Birthday party, and also spun at the launch of Stella in Two perfume, by Stella McCartney.

She has played alongside Brandon Block, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, and Grant Nelson, Tim Deluxe, Lottie, and Seamus Haji, Sister Bliss, Sandy Rivera, Jo Mills, and Norman Jay.

Her sound is house. From latino and funky to deeper and dirtier. The most important thing to her is to select quality floorfillers, and perform with passion whilst spicing up her sets with the latest technology.

With her production career about to take off with her debut release, “Piano Drop” hitting the shops in the early summer, watch this lovely lady fly in her 5th year as a pro DJ. Also, keep your eyes peeled for “It’s Tonight” by The Boneheads feat. Ladybunny, the first signing to her label.
