‘Every lyric, every verse, every song – it’s gotta be big.’

Such is the mindset of one of the most successful rappers in the history of the Australian record industry. DIGGA exploded onto the charts alongside producer J Wess, with the latter’s 2004 debut album Tha LP. The album spawned two Top 20 ARIA singles, (Bang This, and Luv Ya), plus a Top 10 ARIA Gold selling single (What Chu Want), and DIGGA graced them all with his smooth flowing raps.

Before helping turn J Wess into a household name, DIGGA sharpened his song-writing and performing skills in the competitive world of underground Hip Hop. Building a fearsome reputation at home in Australia, and then taking to the stage in New York, Washington DC and San Francisco (alongside legendary Melbourne MC Detect), DIGGA developed the raw materials that he would later refine to such great effect in his contributions to the ARIA nominated (Best Urban Release 2004) J Wess album.

“I would never limit myself to one style or approach, I’ll make any type of track that I’m feeling at the time”

Making the transition from gifted lyricist and respected MC to high rotation radio hits and television appearances, DIGGA was able to retain his creative spark. Keeping exceptionally busy over the last 18 months crafting hot new material for J Wess’ highly anticipated follow up album THE DIRECTORS CUT, plus constantly adding to the prospective track list for his own imminent debut album WAIT TILL THEY GET A LOAD OF ME, DIGGA is playing himself into some form. While we heard his distinctive vocal presence on most of Tha LP, and its consecutive ARIA chart singles, DIGGA’s passion as a rapper, songwriter and performer has landed him the role of Rendition Entertainment’s marquee artist – a good sign for the future.

“After having some success on a label, me and J have kinda figured the game out now. We don’t need anyone else to sign off on our stuff, we know it’s hot – that’s why J started Rendition Entertainment. So we’ll be bringing the fans our product directly, no middle men and no games. Just that big, banging sound that our fans love us for.”
