Biography:



Coming out of the East Coast with strong charisma, heavy energy, and a powerful message - Ancient Mind is the “who’s-next” of conscious hip-hop.



Growing up submersed in an era of ‘Golden Age’ hip-hop music – rap was never a foreign concept to Ancient. He started rhyming in elementary school, and by his Freshman year of high school was performing successfully around the Connecticut area. Since then he's won over venues all the way from Toad's Place New Haven, down to Alley Katz in Richmond, Virginia.



Never a stranger to the studio – Ancient has maintained a steady flow of singles & official releases for years. 2006 saw the release of his single 'Peace' with dancehall legend General Smiley, 2007 saw the release of his first mixtape Standing Strong, 2008 he released his first full-length album Sky's the Limit and 2009 brought in a collaborative EP release with fellow Muslim emcee Abu Nurah. Now in 2010 he's released The PreDemption EP in prelude to the upcoming album - The Redemption. With features from REKS, Wise-Intelligent of Poor Righteous Teachers, and 2Mex of the Visionaries - the album promises not only to be another installment of conscious music, but one that's viable in today's market of underground hip-hop.
