Greg Pulliam was born in New Rochelle, New York and became Nysis on the streets of New Roc City. Inspired by Big Pun, Notorious B.I.G., Big L, Tupac, Jay-Z, and Kool G Rap, the kid from “New Roc” started writing rhymes as a creative outlet for dealing with frustrations and hard times. His lyrics come from the harsh realities of his life, as well as his faith and struggle to overcome those hardships. Nysis lost both his parents by the time he was 16. With no family to speak of, Nysis turned to the harsh world of the streets to get by. Besides writing rhymes, Nysis has a natural talent for art. His creativity and lyrics reflect charisma and faith, but above all else, his incredible resilience. As his rhyming evolved, Nysis made a name for himself on the streets, and was encouraged by friends to pursue a music career. Nysis pours the truth of his emotions and experiences into his lyrics and captivating style. In his young, but dramatic life, he has overcome two felony convictions and lived the things most rappers rhyme about, but seldom experience. In addition to his unquestionable street credibility, Nysis is charismatic with a magnetic personality and performance style. His ability to take over the stage has been showcased regularly in the New York City area.
