“Nu Starr” is a UK collective currently fronted by Milen Yonas and Adiam Teckle (a.k.a Angel). Having met each other in Sweden’s capital Stockholm at primary school, these two ladies have been performing in shows and talent contest since knee high.



Milen and Angel each have their unique talent. Fused together we get a showpiece buzzing with Soul, Rap and a distinctive sound and genre that offers pure entertainment.



Past projects include the Hit Single: 'Keep Holding On'. This project was dedicated to the Indian Ocean Tsunami victims. It featured soul diva, Sheeren Crystal.



The single received a lot of coverage on pirate / Mainstream stations across the UK. Stations included the New Style Radio in Birmingham, BBC 1Xtra, Choice Fm (Dave P) and many more.



The low budget music video received endless coverage on various TV music stations which included both gospel and mainstream stations e.g. BEN TV, Premier TV and notably the 'Channel U' where the tune received endless rotation. The track peaked at number 5 in the channel U music charts - 2005.



The success of this tune saw “Nu Starr” nominated for:



1.The Best of British Award - 2005 organised by Channel U, and also



2.GEM award (Gospel Entertainment) award, 2005.



In 2005, Nu Starr performed over 100 shows and to an audience of over 20,000 Shows included: Mayors Newham Festival in Central Park, and headlining the Birmingham Carnival, North of UK club tour (i.e. Reading, Chesterfield, Derby, Newport, Nottingham, organised by Club Detention) and various other London Clubs and charities.



Nu Starr are currently working on an album which is due out in 2007. As at 21/12/2006, Their 2007 debut single , "Candi Treat" has already stormed into the DJ's breaks chart at number 1. The “Candi Treat” single also reached number 1 in the Dj's UK Urban chart, and just this week at number 10 in the DMC charts.



God willing, the aim of Nu Starr is to touch and inspire as many people as possible with beautiful music.
