.Nuklear Dawn is a portuguese harsh electro-industrial musical project where mankind, religion, the path to madness, war and the verge towards the apocalipse are the main themes behind both visual and audible elements of the band.

.during the year 2000 while the portuguese gothic/electronic club scene in Lisbon was experiencing a major boom, the band's founder, [Synth-Axis], working at that time at one of the local clubs (La Folie, later to be known as [LIMBO]) decided to put his hands back on some of his old music works. .in the beginning of 2001 he released, by the means available, he's first track "cuts like a razor" which became a local dancefloor hit. .side by side with two other newcoming portuguese acts, Syntax::Orion and Mechanique, the project tried to fill a gap in the portuguese musical scene: the complete inexistence of electro-industrial bands.

.2002 came with the long awaited possibility of a collaboration between [Synth-Axis] and Sentinel Alpha (guest Dj at the monthly electro-industrial sessions held at LIMBO). the first born child of this collaboration was an instrumental song called "man.u.factured" that showed the band's intent to explore new harsh electro-industrial soundscapes. after the online release

of that song the band showed up on an article at Side-Line Music Magazine's site which gave a new strength to the project so both members started to upgrade their gear to improve unfinished works and two other tracks were released: a new instrumental song called "troops of gold" and a upgraded version of an old work called "mnemonic conspirations".

.2003 started with the release of a song with vocals. "the day the world ended" shows how the band is more mature and hits the dancefloor although it was not composed to be a club track. .after acquiring new equipment the band started to gather the necessary means to organize a first live act. .06.08.2003 marks the day when Nuklear Dawn went live. the concert was held at club [LIMBO] is Lisbon where the band performed before an audience of more than a hundred friends and it was obvious that this was a day that none of them would ever forget. all of the eigth tracks performed, consisting of both old and new songs, were re-arranged for the event.

.after the first live act the two members started working on the release of their first promo cd which was released on May 2004 and was preceded by two live performances in Lisbon and Oporto. the tracks performed were mainly a selection of songs included in the promo together with some new works like "reflections" and "unheard whipers" that showed and consolidated

the way the band wanted to sound. .for these live performances guitarrist Rui Sousa of the portuguese doom-metal band Desire joined the band adding live guitars to some of the tracks. .the cd was recorded at the band's home-studio and contained a video multimedia track based on live footage from those two live performances. .in September the promo hits the 4th place in the FAC (French Alternative Charts) on the self produced category and in October of the same year Nuklear Dawn had the chance to play with bands such as Septsnaz and Hocico at festival held at Oporto (Portugal).

.after a year of reflection on what would be the band's intents and way of sound came the international debut at La Coruna (Spain) and after that the band played together with names such as Accessory and Amduscia in Oporto (Portugal) and Run Level Zero and Der Pragger Handgriff in Madrid (Spain).

.nowadays the band is over. .after what was to be their last gig at the Dead End Festival, which was without doubt the most emotive and chaotic perfomance the band ever did, the members lost the will to continue working together or for the scene.

.guess the world never ended after all.
