2007 and 2008 respectively saw the release of Now Soon Nowhere’s debut album, Samadhi, and follow-up album, Character Studies (Le Théâtre de l'Absurde) – both vigorously-arranged and independently-produced efforts which melded their art rock sensibilities with the band’s interest in other sounds, including electronic, noise, metal, and world music(s). In 2009 they released the Radio Silence EP, which featured updated versions of 2 songs from Samadhi -- in both cases drastically different from the originals. The special edition also featured two off-the-cuff covers (one a standard from their live set at the time, the other a studio experiment).

Inspired by the eternally restless and the intermittently spastic sound creation of artists like John Zorn, Trey Spruance, Frank Zappa, Radiohead, Mike Patton, and Danny Elfman, NSN finds itself rarely content to stay in any one place, musically-speaking, for very long.

With an extremely high-energy stage show to boot, Now Soon Nowhere has performed alongside bands such as fellow genre-pushers tUB rING (Chicago), Ideamen (Chicago), Foxy Shazam! (Cincinnati), Phantods (Columbus) and Downtown Brown (Detroit). For cinematic rock with a little class, and a dark sense of humor, you have come to the right place.

"These four Philly dudes are dead-serious when it comes to making music without borders. [.] No two songs here sound the same, which comes as no surprise considering that few bands can go from the cacophony of "A Hairy Situation" and "Tube & Bucket" to the grandeur of "Infinite" [.] The Inspector sings in a stunning voice and the instrumental passages, while reflective of NSN's other material, come off sounding both more playful and more purposeful."

- Michael Popke (Sea of Tranquility) (click for full review)

"This band covers areas of music that most bands don't even know exist. A 'must check out' if you want to give your brain a lesson in diversity."

- Brian White (Phantom Communique, Dog Fashion Disco)

"If music without borders or preconceived notions is your idea of a satisfying listen (and let’s face it, for most of us it is) then chances are you’ll want to check out what Now Soon Nowhere, a quartet based out of Philadelphia, have done on their debut CD entitled Samadhi."

- Ryan Sparks, Sea of Tranquility (click for full review)

"Coming from a fan of Bungle and Zorn - I always wished there were more bands out their who explored those territories of sound. There is so much imagination on ["Samadhi"] that it's busting out spilling over the edges."

- Justin Day (blogger extraordinaire)
