Novaflow

Hailing from the country music hotbed state of West Virginia, the three members of

Novaflow had two choices: submit to the line dance or break new ground by inventing their own brand of sinister rock n roll. Your'e reading this because they chose the latter.

With inventive riffs, dark, deep melodies, and attitude to spare, Novaflow is one of

indie rocks most innovative new bands, which makes it hard to believe they started out with no musical experience.



We started out with three best friends who had no musical background whatsoever, said

drummer Matt Walker. We went to an Oasis concert one night and we were just blown away. I dont know anyone that wouldnt want to start up a band after seeing something like that. So we did. We started a band on the way home, even before we had instruments.



What they didnt know was that Ben Keenan had been secretly taking lessons, so

with his spotted knowledge of the guitar and the other two members overflowing ambition, Keenan became a bassist, Jeff Stevens became a lead singer, and Walker became a drummer. As they started writing songs, the three new musicians realized if they were really going to press forward with this project, they would need a name. While brainstorming, Keenan suggested the word Novaflow, which Stevens interpreted to mean a new flow, or new sound, so with their lead singers blessing, three friends from West Virginia became three musicians who merged to become Novaflow.



This is a band that will be on your stereo and in your ears for years to come. We want to be the biggest band in the world, said Stevens. And then when we get that big, we want to start being compared to the bands that influenced us. Then were going to take them down. If you shoot for anything less than that, you're wasting your time."
