2008

"Nothing Still brought it with full force over the weekend at their CD release show in celebration of the “I’ve Got A Feeling I’ve Slept Here Before” record recorded through out June of 2008. The release was held at new(er) live music venue in St. Louis, Old Rock House. Selling nothing short (as the band usually does) this album is the highlight of pressings for the band! The best effort yet and for many reasons that you can hear for yourself right out of the wrapper… Maturity and settling together are the first of notices that become quickly apparent in this new record, the band has found their niche and polished it to perfection! A cool blend of trance like beats the settle heavy on your chest to rhythmic mayhem and daunting vocals to wrap it all together. While keeping up with the powerful pace that Nothing Still fans have grown to love they explore (and nicely execute) the softer side of harmony on newer tracks. On stage the maturity of the band if apparent like never before, well balanced and organized. The display is tight – the deal is sealed. Lights to arouse the eyes and sounds to excite the ears, brewing together the perfect concoction to stimulate your senses!"

-- Schuyler Hagglund, formerly of iChannel.FM and DeepRockDrive

"Named "the hardest working band in St. Louis" by the Riverfront Times, Nothing Still might have the most apt band name ever. With tours/shows with Shiny Toy Guns & Kill Hannah along with appearances at two Warped Tours, the band spent most of 2008 finishing up their third release "I've Got a Feeling (I've Slept Here Before)". The CD is being released this December and is filled with the dirtiest of dancey pop synth rock goodness. To switch things up and highlight the songs away from the party that is their live shows, Nothing Still is doing a very rare acoustic performance of tracks from "I've Got a Feeling (I've Slept Here Before)" live at Vintage Vinyl on December 10th starting at 7:00PM."

2007

"It’s early, REALLY early, but The Pageant is already packed to capacity and new wave favorites Nothing Still have the crowd dancing more than the recommended amount after consuming left-over Christmas ham. They’re the first of four acts on the A Very Ludo Christmas bill, but that doesn’t stop the local five-piece from rockin’ out. Called the “hardest working band in St. Louis” by the Riverfront Times, Nothing Still is tightly crafted rock’n’roll in an energetic package. Frontman Emilio Hernandez appeared in a bright red velvet jacket and striped winter scarf. Though the rest of the band wore less festive attire, the entire group performed with energy normally associated with major label rock acts. Frequently playing atop the lightboxes at stagefront, guitarists Matt Kleemann and Anthony Ficken gave particularly compelling performances."

2006

"Hardest working band in St. Louis: Synthrock band Nothing Still must be exhausted. The quartet just wrapped their latest CD, A Black Tie Affair, are producing an autobiographical documentary and launched bi-weekly video podcasts on iTunes all while wearing very, very tight jeans."

-- Riverfront Times

2004

Nothing Still is a St. Louis four-piece with a God Lives Underwater/Die Symphony/Kill Hannah kinda vibe. The group was impressive, performing tunes from their equally impressive release, OUR CINEMATIC SITUATION. That title is as apt a description of the band's music as anything that I could come up with; the sound is very cinematic, very professional. in a powerhouse rock 'n' roll kinda way. Even though this was my first exposure to Nothing Still, it's obvious that they have gained quite a reputation around town as they have a fairly hefty following built up. If you are a fan of any of the bands mentioned in the first sentence - or if you dig the Killers - you should check out Nothing Still. Your ears will thank me!”

“Nothing Still is a band with something to offer people who enjoy great live shows. This group of creative locals has come up with its own unique sound, drawing from new wave and glam rock influences and has a high-energy stage show to go with it. Singer/guitarist Emilio Hernandez makes full use of the stage and never stands still. He seems to be able to win over the crowd's attention the minute he jumps on stage and the band's unusual, atmospheric guitar sound is literally addictive. The band's guitar sounds create a mood much like the moment before a serious summer rainstorm. The sound is somewhat somber and dark, but it's exciting nonetheless.”

-- John Kujawski, Playback Magazine
