The mixtape says it all …It’s a piece of cake…this ‘ting comes naturally to me.’

So its official the inspiring UK artist from North London has returned with a new flow and a new perspective and he is ready to knock the black hole better known as the music industry off its standing.

After meeting with the talented 18year old it’s not hard to tell that his level of thinking is way above many of his peers. He has a laid back and free spirited persona that draws you in and we immediately get talking about his love of extreme sport and art, mostly shown in the originality of his tattoos.

The artist also known as ‘The Content Kid’, sat down with me to discuss his new mixtape ‘Piece Of Cake’, his upcoming mixtape ‘Planet Shalo’ and the journey he has taken since he disappeared off the music scene after a brief introduction.

‘I’ve been in the game from when no one really had any faith in the artistic ability of UK vocalists’

Influenced by many musical icons, Shalo is a huge supporter and advocate of the urban sound but although his creative sound originates from the hip-hop and underground scene Shalo also delves in electro, indie and techno sounds.

His current mixtape ‘Piece of cake vol.1’ features a range of different sounds.

‘When I finish a mixtape my journey takes another turn. I like to live life in the fast lane so everything is on fast forward. As soon as I’ve finished a tune or a project I’m already on the next’

When asked if he thought he would be compared to any of the UK artist that are currently on the scene he replied ‘There are a lot of good artists out there. A lot of artists are doing there ‘ting and that’s what like to see. I don’t really think you can compare me to other artists. People will make comparisons because were all trying to break the same industry but I’m on some crazy s***. No one’s bringing what I’m about to bring and that’s why individuals have individual success. No one wants to hear the same thing twice’.

Whilst Shalo had the opportunity to promote his music and get on to the music scene full time he took a break out from his music

He returned to what he calls his comfort zone once he had accomplished the objectives he had set at for himself at that time. As well as using the time to find himself and ensure that he was stable in certain areas of his life he also concentrated on his books and left school with excellent grades…Now the Philosophy and Literature student says ‘I don’t just meet the concept of my lyrics I take it and add my own personal touch. I’m always evolving, taking my life experiences and those of others around me to make my music come to life.’
