Nino was born in Stockholm, Sweden on 29 June 1981, and shortly after moved with his family to Rhodes. From school years, he loved singing and music and by the age of 16 years, he had learned how to play the Harmonium, guitar (electric classical), drums, harmonica, accordion, and bass. His first real performance was live at a night club, were he gained impressions. After school, he went to Athens in search of his dream, going to various auditions and at the same time he went to a college for sound designing. He then returned to Rhodes after accepting a proposition to perform in a large night club, which had big success and then went on and performed in Patra.



After a few years of small performances, Nino decided to audition for the first season of "Fame Story". His participation in Fame Story proved to be successful, making him one of the most popular new images of the Greek music scene, with many fans across Greece. He became know for his melodic and special connotation of his voice, for his fresh presence and his strong personality.



After being eliminated from "Fame Story" Nino had many propositions from the Greek labels. Nino decided to sign with Heaven Music. In July 2003, Nino released his debut album titled NINO, NINO, NINO. The album contained 13 songs, mostly love ballads, but also songs with folk and pop elements. The music for seven of the songs is penned by the successful young composer Kyriakos Papadopoulos. Music was writtn by Christoforos Germenis and Takis Damaschis while two songs from the album are signed by Grigoris Petrakos, who emerged from "Fame Story" also. The lyrics were written by Vasilis Yiannopoulos, while Natalia Germanou wrote the lyrics for the song "Horis Na Se Ksero" based on an idea of Nino's. The production manager was Antonis Gounaris. A magazine commented that "The El Nino phenomenon has just reached". The album debuted at No.1 on Greek Album Chart and after 3 weeks it was certified Gold selling more than 20,000 copies. The album spawned many airplay hits such as "Kalimera", "Sa Navagoi", "As Telionoume" and after 3 months of its release it became Platinum.

Following the success of his debut album, Nino started working on his second album. Nino returned more mature with his 15 songs album Ilikrinis, which was much more laika than his previous album. He collaborated with many producers such as Christforos Germenis, Christos Basios, Constantinos Pantzis, Stratos Diamantis, and Marios Psimopoulos. The lyrics were written by Vasilis Yannopoulos, Evi Droutsa, John Bagoulis, Margarita, Giannis Liontos, Christina Soldatou, Andreas Bonatsos and Vasilis Theodorakoglou. Nino cooperated with his idol Stamatis Gonidis who wrote two songs. The album was released in November 2004 and the first single was "Fovamai". "Gia Na Eimai Ilikrinis" and "Sexy" were also released as radio singles. The album was certified Gold.



In 2006, Nino released Epireastika. The album was the result of his personal choices and it was released in March 2006. On the cover Nino depicted as a statue after special treatment and manages to cause our curiosity and draws our attention with a cover that differs from what we have become accustomed. It contained 11 songs which were produced by Christoforos Germenis, Dimitris Paraskevopoulos, Vangelis Tountas, Andreas Lambrou, Harry K, Marios PsimopouloA, Evi Droutsa, Philip Elias, Michael Favios and Grigoris Petrakos. Stamatis Gonidis wrote two more songs and they cooperated successfully in the club "Thalassa". The first single was "Erota Mou" was a hit, though its video had to be censored because of nude scenes. "Epireastika" and "Pethaino" were also released as singles from the album.



A half year after his third album, Nino released his fourth album with the title Thavmata in November 2007. Many popular producers cooperated with him including Akis Deiximou, Antonis Pappas, Takis Bougas, Nikos Gritsi, Viki Gerothodorou, Nino Vangelis Tountas and Evi Droutsa. Also notable producers were Andreas Bonatsos, Stelios Maris and Elena Giannatsoulia. Nino wrote many of the songs himself. For the cover, Nino was photographed on the stage of the club that he usually sings at. The first single was "Thavmata." The second single is "Kako Paidi."
