French-Ukranian singer-songwriter Ninn Ozera was infused by different worlds, both East and West.
Her mother, a sparkling ballerina, grew up by the Black Sea; while her father was a penniless scallywag playing drums in the streets of Montmartre.
Her music is personal and introspective, carried by her haunting Slav-influenced vocals.
But Ozera is more than a singer: a self-taught troubadour on, among many others, the piano, the accordian and drums, harking back to old Paris.
Above all however, she is a citizen of the world, drawing on music as diverse as the Indian Bansori flute, American country Autoharp, the Greek Cimbalom and Bulgarian choirs.
At a loss to label her style, one journalist had to invent the term: Chamber Pop.
