As the administrator of this space I have to ad that Nikki died on the 26th of March 2006. The following text was written by Nikki and has not been changed:

In 2002 I recorded my ninth solo album, Treasure Island on which I was backed by The Last Bandits - Stéphane Doucerain on drums, John Clifford Barry (bass) and guitarist Darrell Bath. Special guests included Ian McLagan (Small Faces, Faces), Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones), Anthony Thistlethwaite (Waterboys), Dave Kusworth (Jacobites) and BJ Cole (Cochise). The LP was released on my own Rookwood label at the end of July 2004.

In a good year I play around 100 shows. Half with The Last Bandits, the other half solo. John Barry, Danny Hole, Darrell Bath and Einar Stenseng have joined me in the studio for my new album. If you liked Treasure Island this one takes things up a couple of notches. Cool'n rockin' with some Bobby Womack meets Fairport Convention meets the Stones and Martin Carthy for a T.Rex / Free jam session. May'haps Suzi Quatro dancing with Peg Leg Howell to the tune of a pipe and fife band. Or maybe not. The Barry / Hole / Bath / Sudden / Stenseng lineup plan to tour as much as possible during 2006 and on.

Over Christmas / New Year I was in England finishing vocals and mixing the tracks. Engineer, John Rivers, and I got half the work done and I returned to the UK at the end of January to get the tracks done. The album is scheduled for release this April. The cover photos have been taken and are being chosen at this moment. All we need is to think of a name for the band. Piece of cake really!
