ETUI 015 Nico Grubert – Excalibur
After the great Remix on ETUI 014 Alec Troniq "Cataract Four" we finally are happy to present this Solo EP by Nico Grubert. There are 4 Tech House Tracks representing the kind of airiness and technical aplomb of Nicos absorbing work. The spheric moments in „Excalibur", filtered organ chords in „Forbidden Fruits" and a blowing brassic theme in „Me Gusta" are always highlighted by the typical exciting Grubert-Beats.
So its sounds like the consequential continuation of his journey thru diverse styles, developed gradually over years: Evolving from Trance and Techno, the route, via Acid, finally led to Tech-House, Deep-House and Minimal Techno. He released his stuff on labels such as Cometomusic, Kaufe Musik or Definition Rec. and made high recommend remixes for Ferdinand & Kaufmann, Lexy and Crhistian Fischer. But dont judge overhasty! His livegigs differ a lot from what one might expect from his tracks: Hard-pumping high-energy sets, designed to tear any roof off! So weve got our hands full!
And if you like more, youll find the digital Bonus Track called „U1" dedicated to Berlins metro on the digital release.

With this release again, Alec Troniq shows his love for detailled composed sounds. His unconventional arrangements already rocked our world on Passengers (ETUI 008) and other releases on his Ipoly Music and on Microtonal. The title track was supported by the Boogie Duo "2Hot" (Mario Meusel & Christian Schöbel). Guitars, banjos and a cajon worshipping Cataract Four the summer spirit and melt into a late summer hymn. Nico Grubert from Zuerich gives this song his special signature, just as to his remixes for Lexy, Christian Fischer and others. He wraps it with atmosphere and a dry and pure beat foundation. Ladycow Boy is the minimal addition for all the partypeople that don’t want to go home in the morning.

Biography
Nico Grubert began his career at the tender of age 16 when he started to produce his first tracks. Back in 1993/94 this guy from Switzerland (but born in the German state of Sachsen-Anhalt) already spent his money on electronic music (his favourites at the time: Bonzai Records, etc.), getting more and more involved with this peculiar style of music in general.
His own style also developed gradually over these years: Evolving from Trance and Techno, the route, via Acid, finally led to Tech-House and Minimal Techno.
Soundwise, he provides classy Techno and Tech House as well as Minimal. As it is he same with any producer, Nico Grubert's music has been influenced by the works of others. Among those are Jeff Mills, Alexander Kowalski, Paul Brtschitsch and Basic Channel.
His livegigs on the other hand differ a lot from what one might expect from his tracks: Hard-pumping high-energy sets, designed to tear any roof off!
