NGOBO NGOBO, one of the most popular German ska bands, has been making people dance throughout Europe for more than 15 years now. As pioneers of the rocksteady style they played a decisive role in the development of ska in the nineties.

A brief history of the band demonstrates their outstanding performance:

Immediately after they started up in the early nineties, the band won two newcomer awards and released their first album “Rude Fruit” which enthused fans as well as reviewers: “Rude Fruit … textually and musically an intelligent, lively and humorous album” (feedback). Their numerous subsequent appearances on German TV spread their reputation beyond the ska scene.

The sound of NGOBO NGOBO is unique!

Pushing 2-tone ska and fat reggae beats lay the foundations for surprisingly catchy tunes. “Hello Everybody”, “Lilly”, “Hippie 96” and “No One Cares” have achieved cult status across European borders and show the band’s talent for composing catchy tunes.

The success story continues with their fifth album “Freaks and Drunken Lovers” (released in January 2007); once more they show their strength in the production of tuneful, modern ska, but their years of experience in the offbeat business now give a still better acoustic blend and an even more dynamic performance. The result sounds superior, international and definitely better than that of the band's numerous competitors.

The band's pre-eminence is on the scene is shown by more than 400 concerts all over Europe, including Rome, Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam, and beyond; their rhythms delighted Rwandans during their journey as ambassadors for a development project.

Finally NGOBO NGOBO are heading for Asia to make Japanese people happy with their Japan tour 2007. Rocksteady fans watch out when the NGOBO NGOBO sound hits your town! Don’t miss one of the best ska bands the European scene has to offer.
