For rapper Bad Newzz this is an understatement. The 25 year-old Bronx

native, poised to take over the entertainment industry by storm as the first prominated alternative rapper, has faced adversity since childhood but has never

let it defer his dreams.

At the tender age of three, his father was incarcerated and Newzz moved

into the Fort Apache section of the Bronx to be raised by his

grandmother. A fan of art, poetry, and dance, he often faced ridicule

and had to fight to prove his manhood. Newzz found escapism in rapping

and songwriting, embracing a style of tart honesty and clever wordplay.

He later attended Teens in Motion, a musical program for high-risk youth

in the South Bronx, and found guidance under director J. Conrad

Robinson. In 2000, Newzz formed the rap trio Fort Apache with artists J.

Frost and Deville. The group landed a production deal with MBK

Entertainment and began working on their debut album Dancing wit Wolves

but split in early 2003 due to creative differences.

The group's breakup affected Newzz greatly and he considered leaving

music forever. In 2004 though, after watching the horror classic

Nightmare on Elm Street, Newzz's creative juices began to flow again.

He wanted to become the musical Freddie Krueger; feared and potent.

Like Freddie, Newzz is often slept on. But beware: while you're sleeping, he attacks (lyrically). Embodying the Freddie-like alter ego when he is upset or mad, Newzz has dubbed his musical family Elm Street Entertainment. Home of the slept on artists, these are the performers and music the industry finds too risky!

Bad Newzz's debut solo album Rosemary's Baby is poised to become a

hip hop classic. With honest, often heart-wrenching lyrics, Newzz tells

of his turbulent life; his struggles with the streets, his family, his

sexuality, and the bigotry of society. He collaborates with a multitude

of upcoming producers including H.I.T.M. (History in the Making) and

House of Tre. Newzz dedicates this album to the masses, the outcasts,

and the underdogs of society.

The music world's breath of fresh air is here.
