Watch Sloan play the Newlywed Game, talk about new album, Commonwealth

Published: September 17, 2014

In their 20-plus year career, Sloan has proven to be one of the most consistent rock bands in the country, whether it's early ear worm "Underwhelmed," radio classic "Everything You've Done Wrong" or "Unkind," from 2011's The Double Cross. With Commonwealth, their 11th album (and second double LP), the quartet manages to pull off much the same while also doing something it's never done before: each member was given one side of Commonwealth to write and sequence, in essence playing one EP each from members Jay Ferguson, Chris Murphy,Patrick Pentland and Andrew Scott.

Both Ferguson and Murphy recently stopped by CBC Music to talk about the album, comparing it to Kiss's 1978 release of four solo albums, which you can watch below. They also took part in a new series we like to call Games with Bands. So if you've ever wanted to see Sloan on the Newlywed Game, today's your lucky day.
