Rich Aucoin is the type of artist that makes a dance party record and fills it with philosophical meanderings, then syncs it to the claymation version of the existential children's story, The Little Prince (as he did on his recent album Ephemeral). He's a master of mixing the high and the low, which is just as true in person as it is in his music. Aucoin gives every question, no matter how trivial, a deep and thorough examination, resulting in some alarmingly smart answers to dumb questions.
