Watch Florence and the Machine sing for fan in Texas hospice

Published: May 26, 2016

British artist Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine surprised a fan in Texas by showing up to Hospice Austin’s Christopher House to sing for her after learning she was too sick to attend her concert.

The fan, 15-year-old Karinya Chen, suffers from a rare form of cancer called paraganglioma and had wanted to attend Welch’s show in Austin. Instead, Welch and her guitarist went to her and performed acoustic versions of her hits “Dog Days Are Over” and “Shake It Out” for the fan. Chen even sang along, which surprised Welch who responded, “Such a good harmony!”

After the visit, Chen told reporters, “I want to thank God because I believe in miracles. This was a miracle sent from heaven and she is an angel.”
