Elton John showed up at a London railway station yesterday to play a piano medley of some of his hits while a crowd of onlookers watched and filmed the surprise event on their phones.
John is releasing a new album called Wonderful Crazy Night today, yet the performance at St Pancras railway station focused on his past hits. The 68-year-old singer played tracks like "Tiny Dancer," "Bennie and the Jets" and "Candle In the Wind" on the piano but didn't sing.
After playing on the Yamaha B3 piano for a few minutes, John left but not before scrawling "Enjoy this piano! This is a gift. Love Elton John" on top of the piano.
John confirmed that the piano was a gift to the railway station on his Instagram account.
"Surprise!! I popped into St Pancras International to christen the Yamaha piano which I donated to the station. Now everyone can have a play."
