Jenny Lewis spoofs her child actor days with new video starring Feist, Fred Armisen, more

Published: May 27, 2015

Watching Jenny Lewis sing the words "But she’s not me" while holding a water gun to a teddy bear’s head is not something I would’ve predicted for today, yet here we are.

The singer, formerly of Rilo Kiley, just released the music video for "She’s Not Me," off of her 2014 album, The Voyager, and she enlisted Girls’ Zosia Mamet, Fred Armisen, Saturday Night Live’s Vanessa Bayer and Feist (!) for the project. Lewis is a little off the rails throughout, playfully enacting the song’s lyrics.

The video’s a bit of an homage to Lewis’s child actor days, when she worked on Troop Beverly Hills, Pleasantville and The Golden Girls. (Armisen, Bayer and Mamet as Golden Girls? Any time.) Plus, Feist plays a boogying priest (don’t miss it, it’s near the end).

One thing’s for certain: Jenny Lewis could totally pick that acting career back up.
