First Play Live: CTZNSHP's secret show

Published: January 23, 2015

CTZNSHP is a relatively new and unknown band from Montreal, but there has been a groundswell of noise about the five-piece in recent months (Vice billed it as the most promising Montreal band, ever). With a little luck, that groundswell will turn into a tidal wave of adoring fans.

CBC Music brought the band to Toronto for a session that was billed as a "secret show," where music fans had no idea who they were about to see perform. All they knew was the band in question was Canada's next big thing — no pressure on CTZNSHP to hit it out of the park.

The band delivered a tight performance of mostly new material that will be featured on their upcoming release, All Things to the Sea. The audience took it all in and, by the end of the set, were completely enthralled.

We hope you'll like them just as much. Here is the band's first single, "Low Lives," which has seen regular air play on CBC Radio 3 since its release. Stay tuned for more videos from the secret show.
