Kate Bollinger – “Untitled”

Published: May 21, 2019

Kate Bollinger mesmerizes with mellowed-out gem “Untitled,” a track that shows the various strengths of the Charlottesville, Virginia-based singer/songwriter. A lush rhythm section is accompanied by dual guitar progressions, both meandering breezily amidst Bollinger’s ethereal vocal push. The “worst thing you could do,” expansion past the one-minute mark plays nicely, adding some snares and a more paced vocal reflection. “Untitled” is blissful, easy listening.

The artist has worked recently with producers John Trainum and John Wehmeyer on R&B-geared pop, with plans to release a series of indie pop tracks in 2019. “Untitled” is described by Bollinger as her “jazzy indie-pop debut with a backing band, which adds a liveliness to the tracks without robbing them of their introspective core.”

“Untitled” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.
