The star power lineup continues to grow for MTV’s Video Music Awards this weekend. The network has announced that Nicki Minaj will open the 2015 VMAs this year, returning for a second year in a row.

The Young Money superstar will return to the VMAs stage, in what’s being described as a “jaw-dropping performance.” Minaj performed the song “Anaconda” and later returned for “Bang Bang” with Jessie J and Ariana Grande at last year’s VMAs.
Minaj, who is nominated for “Best Female Video,” “Best Hip-Hop Video,” and “Best Collaboration,” made headlines when she spoke out on her “Anaconda” video not getting a nomination for “Video of the Year.”
Fresh off wrapping up the North American leg of “The Pinkprint” tour, Nicki will join the VMAs performance lineup that includes Justin Bieber, Pharrell, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Demi Lovato, Tori Kelly, and Twenty One Pilots.
Kanye West will be honored with this year’s Video Vanguard Award, as Miley Cyrus serves as host at this year’s show. Catch the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards live on Sunday night at 9 p.m. EST.
