This time last year, Skepta dropped the video for “Shutdown,” an immediately accessible, if not slightly cartoonish, Grime hit that finally seemed to catch on in the States. Fast forward 12 months and the BBK bossman is once again heating up the streets on both sides of the pond with his latest single, “Man.” Trading the clean white tracksuits and HD cameras for an all black ‘fit and a VHS filter, Skepta and his tracksuit mafia keep it all the way grimy and tear down an underground party in the song’s accompanying video.
“Man” is off Skepta’s long-awaited Konnichiwa LP, dropping May 6. The album features appearances from Wiley, JME, Novelist, Pharrell, A$AP Nast, A$AP Bari (aka Young Lord), D Double E and Boy Better Know.
