After nearly three years on the label, Busta Rhymes has left Cash Money. The Brooklyn rapper confirmed his departure during a recent appearance on Shade 45′s Sway on the Morning, explaining that creative conflict regarding his upcoming album, E.L.E. 2, was the reason behind his decision. However, Bussa Buss assured that there is no bad blood between him and YMCMB boss Birdman. Busta didn’t say whether he’ll be signing with another label or taking the independent route with E.L.E. 2, though.

For me, with this particular project and all of the sacrifice that went into it — recording the album for five years, I lost Chris Lighty making this album, I lost my father making this album. The shit I was putting into this album, I’m not compromising my vision for it.

So if I feel like if, in the slightest way, we ain’t facilitating everything necessary for the vision to be seen through and executed in the way that I’ve been envisioning this shit for the last five years, let me live and die in my own own inequity.

I just had a conversation with Bird like, ‘Listen, bro. I’m grateful and everything is love with us, but I just gotta see this through the way that I wan’t to see this through.’
