Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj to Perform at 2016 MTV VMAs

The countdown is on for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, taking place this Sunday live from New York City. With four days until the big show kicks off, the star power just got bigger as Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and DJ Khaled have been added to this year’s VMA lineup.

On Wednesday night (Aug. 24), it was announced that Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj will perform their Dangerous Woman collaboration “Side to Side.” The music video for Grande’s single with the Young Money Queen will world premiere that same night at shop.guess.com and VEVO.

The pint-sized pop singer and Queens rapper previously performed at the 2014 MTV VMAs, opening the show with a medley of Grande’s “Break Free,” Minaj’s “Anaconda” and their “Bang Bang” collaboration with Jessie J.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was also revealed that DJ Khaled will serve as host of the VMAs pre-show. Fresh off a No. 1 album with Major Key, DJ Khaled will get the party started with performances by Alessia Cara, Jidenna, and Lukas Graham. Khaled has also teased that he will also me a part of the main show.

The 2016 MTV VMAs take place this Sunday at 9 p.m. EST live from NYC’s Madison Square Garden. Rihanna, Future, Britney Spears featuring G-Eazy, and Nick Jonas featuring Ty Dolla $ign will all hit the stage. Beyoncé leads the way with 11 nominations, and Rihanna is this year’s recipient of the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
