Whatever magical potion of longevity “Weird Al” Yankovic bathes in (we’re referring to his career here, sickos), it’s certainly doing the trick. The curly-weaved pop comedian chucked out eight music videos for songs off his new LP Mandatory Fun over eight days starting last week, and the resultant payoff is the first chart-topping album of Yankovic’s 31-year music career.
In total, Mandatory Fun sold 104,000 copies in its first week out of the gate, i.e. double the amount of what last week’s chart-topping album, Sia‘s 1000 Forms Of Fear, moved a sure sign, music lovers, that the Alpocalypse is indeed nigh.
