The last we heard from Aussie pop diva Jessica Mauboy she was performing “Sea Of Flags” at Eurovision, which is kind of random given that Australia is exempt from the competition. Since then the 25-year-old has been working on her fourth studio LP with industry heavyweights like Kenny ‘Babyface’Edmonds, who wrote and produced new single “Can I Get A Moment?” (due October 17).
A snippet of the much-anticipated single hasn’t arrived yet but the song is described as “fresh, infectious and up-tempo”. I like all of those adjectives, so I’m hype! Since finishing runner-up on the fourth season of Australian Idol, Jessica has amassed 12 top 20 hits and starred in internationally acclaimed film The Sapphires. An international breakthrough is long overdue. Let’s hope Babyface can help make it happen.
