The third ever Invictus Games kicked off this past Saturday at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, and some familiar faces were present for the Games’ opening ceremony.

Canadian pop star (and the co-host of this year’s MMVAs) Alessia Cara performed her 2015 hit “Scars to Your Beautiful” in front of hundreds of cheering athletes, public figures and audience members. She was also introduced by two adorable children wearing matching yellow outfits, in case you were wondering.

BC natives The Tenors took the stage before Cara to sing their uplifting single “Under One Sky,” followed by English singer Laura Wright with the operatic “Invincible” and French-Canadian folk band La Bottine Souriante.

Later in the ceremony, Sarah McLachlan (aka the queen of tearjerkers) performed not one but two songs, opening with sentimental crowd-pleaser “I Will Remember You” and closing with the newer, inspirational “In Your Shoes.”

Canadian actor Mike Myers also delivered a heartfelt speech addressed to the whopping 550 athletes (from seventeen different countries) participating in this year’s event, commending them for their strength and determination. Myers later took the time to thank his late parents for their service during World War II. Justin Trudeau, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, and Melania Trump also attended the opening ceremony along with Prince Harry, who founded the Invictus Games back in 2014 as a way to empower ill and wounded veterans.
