Taylor Swift Has A Love/Hate Relationship With Love In ‘Gorgeous’

Published: October 20, 2017

Taylor Swift’s sixth studio album still has three weeks until its drop date, but she’s officially upped the ante with her newest single “Gorgeous.”

Released early this morning, “Gorgeous” is the third single from Swift’s Reputation, after “Look What You Made Me Do” and “Ready For It?”

Even though Swift formerly proclaimed the Old Taylor as dead and gone, “Gorgeous” is most reminiscent of the pop bangers on 1989, mixed with the lovey-dovey lyrical elements of her Fearless and Speak Now eras.

While her last two singles both went on the offensive with aggressive beats and bold lyrics that called out and challenged her haters, this time around, Swift’s singing about the love-hate relationship she has with… falling in love. “You make me so happy it turns back to sad, / There’s nothing I hate more than what I can’t have,” she croons.

Fans are already speculating who the single’s about, with clues hinting to both her current rumoured beau, British actor Joe Alwyn and former flame Tom Hiddleston.

Reputation (finally) drops in full on November 10. Listen to the single below.
