Hedley frontman, Jacob Hoggard, has never been one to shy away from sharing all inner thoughts with the greater public, and that’s exactly what he did on the band’s sixth studio album, Hello. ‘We’ve been waiting our whole lives to make this album,’ said Hoggard. ‘It’s everything we wanted to say and even some things we didn’t want to. Hello is who we are now, it’s where we’re going next.’
The album was released earlier this month and covers the topics of crushing on babes, breaking up with babes, and the importance of family and self-discovery, ‘Can’t Slow Down is a super honest moment and it’s just sort of like a reflection of, I guess like, exactly what my life can be like sometimes, and when I sing it I’m almost saying those words to myself. To pose it from someone else and using my name in it, it was just so personal… it’s kind of like a super confession.’
Guitarist Dave Rosin sat in on the interview, and while he let Hoggard do most the talking, he managed to steal the spotlight once or twice with his adorable head nods and humming of the music for Very First Time.
