Hailee Steinfeld And BloodPop Drop ‘Capital Letters’ For ‘Fifty Shades Freed’

Hailee Steinfeld, Fifty Shades Freed

The end of an era will arrive next month when the final chapter of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy Fifty Shades Freed hits theatres. What other franchise has so expertly paired cringe-inducing dialogue with great soundtracks? There may never be another. We’ll miss you, Mr. and soon-to-be Mrs. Grey. Well, we’ll miss your soundtracks.

Thankfully, we still have one more soundtrack to look forward to with the final film. We’ve already heard the Rita Ora and Liam Payne’s collaboration “For You,” a high energy pop track that has the British pair finding love in an unlikely place. Like, a BDSM relationship? We got ‘cha.

Now the second single from the upcoming Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack has arrived and this time pairs Hailee Steinfeld with producer BloodPop for the song “Capital Letters.” Best known for his work with Justin Bieber, BloodPop brings his pop sensibilities to the new single, which has a much more carefree approach than we’re used to hearing from the soundtrack of sultry.

Possibly signaling the Grey’s newfound approach to a more traditional love story in the third film, the song is a feel good single about for worse or for better, with the focus on the better.

Like “For You,” “Capital Letters” is a solid single that still falls short of the franchise’s previous original tracks, like the Grammy-nominated singles “Earned It” from The Weeknd and “I Don’t Want To Live Forever” from Zayn Malik and Taylor Swift, but we’re still holding out hope for the rest of the soundtrack.
