Leaving a hugely popular band at the height of its success is a scary move, but for former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello, it’s a move that has paid off. The newly solo singer has just marked her one year anniversary of leaving Fifth Harmony in December 2016 and is only days away from releasing her highly anticipated debut self-titled solo album on January 12.
To celebrate her upcoming album, Cabello is looking back on her successful 2017, which included the huge hit singles “Crying In The Club” and “Havana,” as well as a tour with Bruno Mars and appearances on the iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
In her new video for “Never Be The Same,” Cabello shares footage from these events and more, including family videos, clips of the singer meeting fans, and footage from her music video shoots. As a thank you to her loyal fan base, Cabello also included footage of fans performing her new single in the second half of the “Never Be The Same” video.
Cabello concluded the video with a message to her fans, writing “Thank you for the best year of my life. See you January 12 for Camila.”
Sharing the video on her Instagram, Cabello admitted she and her family cried many times while watching the personal family trips and fan footage for “Never Be The Same.” Writes Cabello, “This is a thank you from the bottom of my heart for always being here for me and for all the memories we’ve made together this year.”
We have a feeling 2018 will also be pretty amazing for the pop star. Camila drops in full on January 12.
