Published: March 15, 2018

Arcade Fire are giving fans a two for one with their latest music video release. Shot as a short film, the band combined two music videos from their 2017 album Everything Now, featuring the tracks “Put Your Money On Me” and “We Don’t Deserve Love.”

Shot by director David Wilson, who also worked on Arcade Fire’s 2013 album Reflektor, the new short film is titled Money+Love and stars Oscar-nominated actor Toni Collette. Featuring all five band members, including Win Butler, Regine Chassagne, Will Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury, and Jeremy Gara, the band plays fictional versions of themselves. Sacked with mounting debt, Arcade Fire and their ‘Everything Now’ brand is forced to partner with a big business run by Collette and sell products in order to continue making music. Marshmallow cereals, sports cars and casinos are all part of the new branding package. The band agree, but eventually find themselves rebelling against the big business.

Arcade Fire premiered the new short film on Wednesday night at the Gramercy Theatre in New York, where they were interviewed by director Spike Jonze. The Montreal-based band in currently in NYC preparing for their performance on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, which will be hosted by returning SNL album Bill Hader.

Arcade Fire are also set to perform at the 2018 JUNO Awards on Sunday, March 25, where they will receive the International Achievement Award. This year’s show will be hosted by Michael Bublé and in addition to Arcade Fire, feature performances from Jessie Reyez, Daniel Ceasar, Arkells, Lights, Shawn Hook, The Barenaked Ladies, and more.
