A murderous flashback scene from ‘It’ may have been unearthed

Published: October 16, 2017

As if It wasn’t already terrifying enough, Reddit has reportedly unearthed a 1600s flashback scene that was cut from the film—and it's scary enough just to read through.

It’s not as though this scene came out of nowhere, though. Bill Skarsgard spoke briefly on the cut scene to Variety last month.

“There was a scene we shot that was a flashback from the 1600s, before Pennywise [was Pennywise],” Skarsgard told Variety. “The scene turned out really, really disturbing. And I’m not the clown. I look more like myself. It’s very disturbing, and sort of a backstory for what It is, or where Pennywise came from.”

And Reddit claims to have the details on the scene, set in 1637. It involves a woman named Abigail and Pennywise, a “half- formed imitation of a human” who opens his “maw full of large razor sharp teeth.”

They explain that as Pennywise moves around the room, light hits his face and each time it does he appears different: “A Man. A Woman. A Beast. A Monster.”

Read an excerpt from Reddit below:

She turns away from the baby. Faces those dying embers. We keep on her face as they seem to begin GLOWING BRIGHTER AS -- OVER HER SHOULDER -- OUT OF FOCUS -- Pennywise crawls over to the Baby and starts to feast. SHARP CRY FROM THE BABY CUT OFF as we hear a CRUNCH. Abigail continues to look into the BRIGHT ORANGE GLOW of not the flickering fire... ...but the DEADLIGHTS. Her expression changing. Fear. Denial. Grief. Acceptance. And then nothing. Just a glazed look. AS IF NOTHING HORRIFIC IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING BEHIND HER.

Eerie. Maybe something to expect in the sequel? We’ll just have to wait and see…

It has taken the horror genre by storm, becoming the highest-grossing horror movie in US history
