The Hot 25: March 24, 2017

Published: March 24, 2017

The Hot 25 (formerly known as The DA Hot 25) is the definitive playlist series running through dance music culture and hand-delivering you with the essential tracks of the week. Whether it’s the hottest or quickest trending tracks, brand new music from your favorite artists, or songs from the unknown that should be landing on your radar, Dancing Astronaut brings you 25 carefully selected records that reflect what’s happening in our world.

This week’s playlist features all four new Gorillaz tracks; major releases from David Guetta, Louis the Child, and Chris Lake; and fiery remixes from Malaa, Oliver Heldens and Kaskade. Additionally, we’ve provided our top picks from within The DA Hot 25, highlighting two standout tracks.

The Heat of the Week: Gorillaz – Ascension (feat. Vince Staples)

The fact that the Gorillaz released four of the twenty-six tracks from their upcoming album this week makes it a good Friday alone. While picking one of the four is like choosing a favorite child, “Ascension” featuring Vince Staples is just downright perfectly balanced from start to finish.

The Breakout Select: Melf – Guilty (feat. Maja)

Fans of Flume, Lido, and What So Not may want to listen up because Melf may be their new favorite newcomer. His sophomore original, “Guilty,” is a diverse mixture of powerful future bass synths, wonky trap horns, and sporadic percussion that is organized chaos in the best way.

Tune in each Friday, exclusively on Spotify, where The DA Hot 25 debuts weekly on our curator page.
