Sometimes, what's new feels weird. And sometimes, you have to remind yourself that's okay. Such is the wisdom of "Duck Hunt" by Peterborough art punks Lonely Parade.

"The song is basically about feeling confused on tour," the band's Charlotte Dempsey says, "feeling out of place in unfamiliar spaces and trying to enjoy yourself regardless. It's about a weird anxious headspace that comes from a whirlwind of new experiences."

To get into a slightly stranger place, the band all swapped instruments — a tactic they used to play with when Lonely Parade was just starting up. Guitarist Augusta Veno is on drums, while drummer Anwyn Climenhage and Dempsey, the bassist, play guitar.

"Duck Hunt" is the third single off the band's forthcoming No Shade LP, all recorded at Revolution Recording and produced by José Contreras of By Divine Right. It's an impressive balancing act between queasy post-punk angles and feel-good indie rock riffing.

Lonely Parade's No Shade is out September 18 through their own Sleepwalk Tapes.
