PREMIERE: Melt along with the new video for Moss Lime’s “Ice Cream Sandwiches”

Published: July 28, 2015

When Montreal trio Moss Lime first put out their July First EP last November, the band's spring-stepping minimalist post-punk and overlapping three-part vocals were like a sip of fresh lemonade or that cool dude emoji with the shades. That summer feeling has haunted them until now, and with a new second run of that limited edition cassette, Moss Lime have created the perfect video for that moment when the weather finally matches their spools.

YouTube Video

Shot by all three members - Caitlin Pinder-Doede and Hélène Barbier in Montreal and Charlotte Bonamour in Brussels, "Ice Cream Sandwiches" takes its name fairly literally, alternating stop- and slow-motion clips of various kinds of ice cream bars and sandwiches, melting and sprouting and unmelting, with Brussels street scenes, water bodies and pigeons, all edited to bounce along with the song.

"The video (like the song) is about travelling or wanting to travel when you are stuck in your snowy city," says Bonamour, who edited the video. "It's also about ice cream and birds."

The July First EP is out now on Fixture Records. Moss Lime will be at Sappyfest this Friday, July 31st at the Legion. They're currently recording their first full-length for Telephone Explosion.
