CONTEST: Win Passion Pit’s “Lifted Up” 7″ vinyl and 2 tickets to see them in Toronto

Published: April 21, 2015

The new album from Michael Angelakos' once dorm room project, now Madison Square Garden headliner feels like his most cohesive yet. The glossy twinkles, trademark falsetto, and swirling synths are all still present, but Kindred (although the shortest Passion Pit album to date) gives itself time to settle in and grow. On each past release, Angelakos has shown he knows how to throw someone in an album and not want to get out. See the opening tracks of Manners' "Make Light," Gossamer's "Take A Walk," and now the infectious and bouncing "Lifted Up (1985)" that opens Kindred.

Passion Pit paved the way for hundreds of bands trying to re-create the hyper, colourful synth-pop that Angelakos seems to be able to create in his sleep. At this point, he could play an entire festival set of hits. Just try to not smile while listening to "Until We Can't (Let's Go)." That is, until you dig into the lyrics.

How would you like a brand new 7" to play before you see their headlining show at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall on April 29th? Sounds good, huh? We can help you with that, because we have two prizes to give away.

Grand Prize: One pair of tickets to Passion Pit's April 29th show at Danforth Music Hall AND one autographed "Lifted Up" 7" vinyl
