Beyoncé just set a whole bunch of Billboard records at once

Published: May 03, 2016

Billboard released its charts for the week ending April 28 and obviously Beyoncé's Lemonade debuted at the top of album sales. But not even the biggest, boosteriest lemon and bee emoji spammer in the beyhive could have guessed that every track — "Pray You Catch Me" through "Formation" — would end up on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

According to Billboard, no female artist has ever held so many spots on the singles chart simultaneously. "Formation" leads the pack at #10 while the James Blake feature "Forward" scores lowest at #63.

The runner-up for simultaneous singles is Taylor Swift, who charted 11 hits with 2010's Speak Now. The all-time record, however, goes to boy prince Justin Bieber who got 17 songs in the top 100 around the release of Purpose late last year.

This marks the sixth time in a row that one of Beyoncé’s solo albums has debuted at No. 1, making her the first artist to ever top the list with her first six albums. Beyoncé also enjoyed the biggest week in music units and sales of the year so far, selling 653,000 units in one week.

That took some unseating of Prince, who shot onto the charts after his death, but Drake is sitting in the wings after the smash release of Views.

All in all, 2016 is already on track to be a huge year for the music industry.
