The Juno-nominated sisters Tegan and Sara have released a short film for their song “U Turn”.
Following a group of female friends as they prepare for a dance competition, director Emma Higgins said that the short “explores the give and take of relationships through the lens of a group of teenage women.”
Their group of friends has a falling out when their apparent leader begins to take things too seriously. It’s a relatable story as we’ve all had that demanding friend, and we’ve all forgiven them when they come to their senses (hopefully).
Tegan herself says: “This was our first time experimenting so far beyond the boundaries of a more traditional music video for one of our songs, and we are so thrilled with how it turned out!"
A giveaway was announced with the release of the short film. The prize pack includes includes tickets to WayHome Festival, T&S merchandise, and a collection of 80’s-inpired clothing that can be seen in the video. Details on the promotion can be found on the group’s Facebook page.
The duo will headline tours this summer, consisting of a Halifax performance and a string of American dates starting in June. They will also appear at a number of festivals, a full list can be seen here and tickets for their upcoming shows can be bought here.
