Æges, 'Weightless'

The ratio of quantity to quality when it comes to hard-alt rock bands in Los Angeles, even in what feels like a golden age for the overall scene, can stifle enthusiasm before the second sentence of a press release. For every band that thinks they’re going to be the next Failure, them and a hundred or so others would be lucky to roadie for Cave In. I say this not as an un-impressable hipster, but to put into perspective how much it takes to stand out. One that manages is Æges, and they’ve just premiered the title track from their third album Weightless via Decibel Magazine. The album is due out July 22 on Another Century Records.
