Four Fists Get Mobile as Fuck in ‘6666’ Video

Published: January 16, 2019
The dynamic duo behind Antiquiet’s Best Album of 2018 have dropped a video accompaniment for the record’s title track. Under the Four Fists moniker, Minneapolis rappers Astronautalis (a.k.a. Andy Bothwell) and Doomtree’s P.O.S. (a.k.a. Stef Alexander) dropped their long-awaited new album 6666 last year to overwhelming praise. Directed and edited by Isaac Gale, the clip features Andy and Stef rocking hijinks on all matters of transport, from motorbikes to rocking out in a hearse, to stealing a canoe and electro-scooting… but the roller-blades present a problem. For real though, listen to this fucking record. The duo are known for their sharp, wit-laced lyrical stylings and explosively fun live performances, and this record hits a tuning fork in the soul. 6666 is a record looking back from the other side of tragedy, strife and pain with somber reflection and appreciation, as well as sure-footed determination and a shit ton of laughs. Backed by the wizard production of Subp Yao, Stef + Andy outline the anxieties and forced lessons in life that reach far beyond our control, as well as the mid-life realizations of how important a home base is to an active soul. Pogoing between comedy and introspective sensibility, the pair deliver a profoundly strong performance.
