There's a new podcast in the world of Canadian indie rock. Vancouver combo Said the Whale have announced the launch of a new podcast called Demoitis. Among the guests they've lined up for the series are members of Arkells, Mother Mother and Tokyo Police Club.

The concept of the podcast is a little bit like Hrishikesh Hirway's show Song Exploder, as it features the members of Said the Whale breaking down their songs piece-by-piece and talking with their guests about songwriting. While the first episode is guest-free, future episodes will feature Max Kerman (Arkells), Graham Wright (Tokyo Police Club) and Ryan Guldemond (Mother Mother).

Episode 1 of Demoitis is online now. It's available wherever you get your podcasts, and you can get it on Bandcamp. (For those who are interested, you can also download free stems from Said the Whale's single "Step into the Darkness" on Bandcamp.) Listen to it below.

In related news, Said the Whale will be reissuing their 2017 album As Long as Your Eyes Are Wide in a deluxe edition including B-sides, acoustic versions and a cover tune. That expanded edition will be out on March 30 via Hidden Pony Records, exactly a year (minus a day) since the original album came out.
